How to Log Out of Your Apple ID and Remove Find My iPhone

If your iPhone needs to be repaired, sold, or returned, it’s essential to log out of your Apple ID and deactivate Find My iPhone.

We are unable to remove Find My iPhone or log out of your Apple ID for you, so it’s important that you take care of this before sending the device to us. To help, we’ve created a short guide to walk you through the process.

Make sure to back up your data before sending in your phone, as some data may be lost during the process.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Open Settings from your home screen.
Tap iCloud at the top, where your name is displayed.
Next, select Find My.

Tap on Find My iPhone and turn it off.
Apple will ask you to enter your Apple ID password to confirm the change.

Once you’ve entered your password, tap Turn Off. Find My iPhone is now disabled, and you can proceed to log out of your Apple ID.

Go back to the general Apple ID settings (as shown in Step 2) and scroll to the bottom to tap Sign Out.
Apple will ask if you want to download files from your iCloud to your phone. This shouldn’t be necessary if you’ve backed up your data.
Tap Sign Out, and your phone will no longer be linked to your Apple ID account.

Your phone is now ready to be sent to us.
